Step inside Say No Mo, a beauty salon in Kyiv, Ukraine and find out what makes it so distinct and novel.
An old building on Kyiv’s 36 Shota Rustavely Street harbours a salon inside it, one with a refreshing and unconventional aesthetic. The interiors of the 2,153-square-feet salon, Say No Mo, that spans two-levels, has been conceptualised and designed by a Ukrainian architecture and interior design firm, Balbek Bureau. “To get on the same mental wave with the client is perhaps the most important aspect while working on a project,” says Slava Balbek, Founder and CEO of Balbek Bureau. “Our architectural team managed to do just that. That is why the proposed concept took off instantaneously: we suggested to break away from a traditional perception of a conventional beauty salon, and its gender distinction, use contrasting materials and the philosophy of non-perfect beauty.”
