The events unfold during the Ukrainian War of Independence of 1917-1921. Two Makhnovist thugs set up an ambush to capture a Red Army convoy carrying a considerable amount of money. The robbery does not go according to plan and together with the money they take the captured commander of the armored car. There is no way back, and three different men who miraculously escaped death become comrades-in-arms
The film was created with the support of the State Film Agency of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian premiere of the film will take place at the Mykolaychuk OPEN Audience Film Festival in Chernivtsi. The film will be the closing film of the large-scale June film event.
“The Three” will be released in wide Ukrainian distribution on Independence Day, August 21.
