Given the way in which the current occupants of the Oval Office treated another person, let alone a head of state, ally and, quite apparently, the only adult in the room, I was shamed to think my country would publicly bully the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy!
“Despicable” is inadequate. But, in an out-of-the-box moment, I wondered: Chicago is a Midwestern city, second only in size, density, etc.,.to the coastal spread on the oceans. As such, Chicago has a unique tapestry of neighborhoods and communities that represent the customs and cultures of the world and welcome folks from everywhere.
The history of the “City of the Century,” as one book describes, is the story of America. Immigrants, building strong bonds with place and people, working together and creating a true gem along the shores of the freshwater sea we know as Lake Michigan.
