Anthony Joshua trainer confirmed ahead of comeback as heavyweight links up with Oleksandr Usyk

Anthony Joshua, the two-time world heavyweight champion, has resumed training with Iegor Golub as he prepares for a return to boxing later this year. Joshua had taken a hiatus following a fatal car accident in Nigeria last year that resulted in the deaths of two close friends.

Joshua was photographed training with Golub, who previously assisted him in the lead-up to his quick victory over Jake Paul. Oleksandr Usyk, who defeated Joshua twice, was also present in the gym, offering technical advice to Joshua during a kettlebell exercise. Joshua was seen working on technical skills and conditioning, including heavy bag work and jump rope.

While Joshua is planning his comeback, there is speculation regarding potential opponents, including fellow British heavyweight Dillian Whyte. Meanwhile, long-time rival Tyson Fury is reportedly coming out of retirement next month to fight Arslanbek Makhmudov.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, indicated activity surrounding the fighter. Hearn recently shared a post on Instagram with the caption “loading,” following his revelation that Joshua had recently turned down an offer from a competing promoter. Hearn recounted that when he informed Joshua about the rival offer, Joshua immediately forwarded the message to Hearn, affirming their long-standing team loyalty.
