Did you know that Ukraine’s IT industry is on a considerable upswing with over 4,000 tech companies? You should’ve heard about Grammarly, Readdle, MacPaw, Reface, Ajax, Depositphotos. These are all Ukrainian companies. That’s right. Also, Ukraine is considered as #1 outsourcing destination and has more than 200,000 highly skilled developers.
So, the country has a lot to offer. Being one of the emerging European hubs, Ukraine is rapidly evolving their relationships with the global tech clusters. Such as Israel.
Just recently, the third Ukrainian Israeli Innovation Summit took place. Driven by the Global Israeli Initiative, this is one of the key events to establish cooperation between Israel and Ukraine in the tech area. This year all the attention was focused on innovations aimed at finding solutions to overcome the consequences caused by the pandemic.
With the support of Sigma Software Labs, a pitch session of Ukrainian startups that develop social impact products was held within the summit. The teams had the opportunity to get on the radar of dozens of Ukrainian and Israeli investors, including such legendary Israeli tech investors as John Medved from OurCrowd and Yossi Vardi from DLD, Israel’s hi-tech ‘godfather,’ investor of the world’s first instant messaging platform, ICQ.
